Lots of people are afraid of the dark. Some people sleep with nightlights so their rooms aren't so dark at night. We use flashlights when our house is dark because the power goes out. Even adults become afraid when the sun goes down and there is no light. When it is dark, we can't see what is around us, and we fear danger. The Bible talks about God as being the light of the world. He is like a nightlight for us, keeping the darkness away. God keeps us safe, so we don't have to be afraid of anything!
Elizabeth Carter

Bible Verse
Psalm 27:1 - The Lord is my light and my salvation - whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life - of whom shall I be afraid?
Prayer
Prayer: Dear God, thank you for being our light so that we don't have to be afraid. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

To the right, is another placemat. This one can help you think about balancing your faith "diet." You’ll see the biggest portion is love. Not only should you show love by serving others, but love yourself. That includes being good to yourself: eat the right foods, get plenty of sleep and stay active by playing sports or games, walking a pet, cleaning house for your parents or grandparents. Anything that keeps your body moving and your brain engaged will keep you ready to share the Gospel!
